The Anger! The Fury!
Saturday •
OFICIAL PREMIÈRE: 28-29 Nov // São Luiz Teatro Municipal
Booking: Free entrance • [Ensaio Aberto]
In the Epistles of Horace this maxim is exposed for the first time: Ira furor brevis. Ira is a temporary madness. How long do you maintain this state of emotional urgency? This passionate passion? For three minutes? In half an hour cycles? Or will you be able, in a minute, to move from the placenta to anger, to Iraq, to fury? How do we build dramaturgically and emotionally a succession of those moments? What form, what form do these passions take? Are they monstrous? Are we monstrous?
Research and reflection scores on classic texts, contemporary philosophical texts, expressions of popular culture, essays on society and gender, on ecofeminism, on the desire to live punk that challenges the status quo. A hopepunk experience, with this radical mixture of optimism fueled by the anger at wanting to change the status. “Kindness is punk. Compassion is Radical. Appreciation is Subversive. ”
THE ANGER! THE FURY! will be presented at Rua das Gaivotas 6 as an informal open rehearsal, before its premiere at São Luiz Teatro Municipal on the 28th and 29th November, as part of festival ALKANTARA.
