Rádio Quântica Performance Takeover
Radio Quântica will take over 5 beautiful rooms in the Ruadasgaivotas6 building, hosting a festival centered on sonic and performative experiences, for an afternoon of live streaming by the name of Quantum Leap. Live music improv, readings, a fashion show, a label showcase and a talk. This way – remotely, considering the current pandemic times – we’ll show the different nooks and corners of the cultural space that is home to the radio’s studio, while presenting a selection of multidisciplinary projects and artists representing the diverse range of the radio’s residents and friends.
Follow everything on radioquantica.com, on December 12th.

Rádio Quântica is a Lisbon-based community radio station established in 2015, and developed with a diverse group of artists and crews – a safe haven where the voices of underground artists and activists can be heard.
With a great focus on the inclusion of communities that usually see their space limited on mainstream platforms, Quântica is the manifestation of a movement, bringing together DJs, labels, musicians, collectors, cultural agitators and activists from all backgrounds, sociocultural contexts, identities and origins, both from Portugal and international.
The radio’s epicentre is a live studio in Lisbon at cultural space RuaDasGaivotas6, from where dozens of hours of live and pre-recorded shows are broadcast weekly, with 24/7 online transmission. Presently, the programming runs about 100 authored shows, over 170 resident artists, with content as varied as soundtracks, noise/ambient, experimental, electronic, funk, hip hop, rock, soul, performative arts and talk shows – each program also inviting national and international guests regularly.
In parallel, Quântica also organizes events, like evenings in several Lisbon venues, festivals, talks and workshops on DJing and music production, as well as the intersection between identity and gender, sexuality and its role in the musical culture of cities.
Quântica is now also an independent homonymous label, where works of some of the residents have been released, as well as special compilations – the first to raise funds for studio hardware and the second one, in 2020, donates all sales towards a local anti-racist organization.
