Friday-Saturday •

Duration: 90min

Precárias III: Performance Festival is an intercultural and community creation project, focused on certain bodies-identities – namely, trans, queer, non-binary, feminine and racialized people – which is dedicated to creating alternative narratives that enhance contemporary performance, with a modus operandi in the area of the precariousness of these changing stories.

Precárias III: Festival of Performance was conceived by the artist Tita Maravilha, had its first edition in 2022, as a proposal to the Artista No Bairro project, promoted by Cão Solteiro and Rua das Gaivotas 6 and is currently working on presenting its second edition in Lisbon, having expanded an emerging program to Montemor-O-Novo, Viseu and Porto.

Its third edition aims to maintain a careful, affectionate curatorship and continue to grow, guaranteeing the expansion of the emergence of programming, with a dynamic that develops the formation of new communities. With a keen eye on the powers that don’t have the visibility and support structure needed to carry out decent work, the direct gaze focuses on new languages, the importance of diverse stories, new ways of seeing and creating and, above all, raising awareness of the different places of speech.

In this third edition, the theme is 🎈“PLAYING BODIES”🎈 – an invitation to explore childhood in its multiple possibilities, rethinking the future and creating spaces for dialog and exchange.

Se Essa Rua Fosse Minha
by Daniel Rakin

(Residency: 14 — 30 july, Rua das Gaivotas 6)

Daniel Rakin is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist living in Berlin. Interweaving video, photography, performance and dance, his practice traverses the encounter between body, image and sound, gesture and memory. In a metaphorical and abstract language, his work traverses dualities, existence, ancestry, paths to freedom, life and death, nature and human fragility. Transmasculine-queer-bardo-peripheral, Dan investigates the representation of silenced bodies and voices, re-signifying narratives erased by history. His dance and performance films have echoed on screens in Germany, the United States, Russia, Denmark and Brazil.
