PRECÁRIAS II: PERFORMANCE FESTIVAL is the brainchild of and conceived by the artist Tita Maravilha. Hybrid activist artist, inventor of universes. Brazilian travesti woman. Or the legend of the Pau Brasil. Actress, singer, performer, clown and DJ. Winner of the last edition of the Amélia Rey Colaço Scholarship, with the project “Es Três Irms”, a work
which addresses issues such as gender identity and intersectionality, through the idea of the political body, the pains and delights of being a dissident body.
PII:FP is an intercultural and community creation project, focused on certain bodies-identities – namely trans, queer, non-binary, feminine and racialized people – and is dedicated to creating alternative narratives that enhance contemporary performance, within a modus operandi in line with the precariousness of these changing stories.
PRECÁRIAS arises from the strength of resistance, even in such adverse contexts, and also happens as a collective celebration that aims to promote greater reflection on the world around us. It had its first edition in 2022, as a proposal to the Artista no Bairro project (a co-production Rua das Gaivotas 6, Teatro Cão Solteiro and Plataforma 285). The second edition aims to grow.

The Elite Kiki House of Bodega
Vogue Femme Workshop
Two sessions:
15h — 16h30 (beginners)
16h30 — 18h00 (all levels)
(Centro de Documentação da Rua das Gaivotas 6)
Presenting itself as one of the pillars of the ballroom community in Portugal, The Elite Kiki House of Bodega is a collective that arose from the need to establish safe spaces for racialized queer people. With queer ballroom culture as its matrix, Kiki House of Bodega is strongly driven by the legacy forged by racialized queer people, especially black trans women, thus aiming to provide spaces for free artistic expression, welcoming and celebrating everyone, with no place for prejudice and discrimination, thus intending to praise and give stage to members of the community, especially racialized queer people.
20h30
performance FQ 2 FQ + DJset
(starts at Largo Conde Barão —> continues on Rua das Gaivotas 6 )
Femme Queen is a constellation. Each FQ who is no longer here is a part of this myriad of stars that illuminate the path of those who are here, at the crossroads of the present. Between this cosmic design and the body of the now, the Ballroom gesture is defined. Chants can be heard, a hand cuts through the air, the MC guides the ritual – and at the sound of a crash, a comet. Someone said we were too much. That it was all too much, pouring out of existence. But to pour out of excess is to be able to form unpredictable rivers. Unforeseen connections, fluid genealogies. There are mothers and fathers, princes and sisters, brothers and endless links beyond blood. Because being and writing too much is also being able to look at time and laugh – an ironic gesture. Irony and shade; a poetic conjunction. And while we laugh, we write with these bodies what those who came before left open. FQ is a question our elders gave us as a gift. We shall honour that.
Tickets: 7€*
*please swap your ticket for a wristband at Rua das Gaivotas 6 30 min before the performance at Largo Conde Barão.

Coxinha Workshop
with Tita Maravilha
15h — 18h
(Sala Rosa da Rua das Gaivotas 6)
The coxinha is an iconic Brazilian savoury snack, known for its soft, crunchy dough and tasty filling. Accompanied by a good chilli pepper and, perhaps, a beer. As part of Precárias II: Performance Festival, the Coxinha Workshop offers a hands-on experience that combines Brazilian culinary tradition with artistic expression and autobiographical stories by Tita Maravilha.
My mum makes the perfect coxinha. The crispiest in Goiás. And she works every day selling these wonders. I invite you to replicate my mum’s recipe with me: Telma Moreira Farinha. Participants learn to make coxinhas as a form of creative expression and celebrate by eating the “art” they have made together. The coxinhas give shape to the creativity of each participant. Each with their own coxinha.
Enrolment fee: 15€.
