Age-range: 3
Booking: Free entrance
The 7th edition of OH Lisbon happens on the weekend of September 22nd and 23rd 2018. We are going to look at Lisbon in a large urban scale through the gaze of the architects Luís Santiago Baptista, and Maria Rita Pais, proposing a reading of the city’s recent transformations, in its several areas and structural axis.
This event, that joins the Lisbon Triennale and EGEAC, looks to promote a wider dialogue on architecture and the community, bringing a better life to citizens and highlighting the crucial role of architects.
Annually, a new selection of buildings is proposed, that show us emblematic works in the city, their stories and authors, on a weekend of free guided tours, with no booking required.
[ rua das gaivotas 6 ]
Known by the name Escola das Gaivotas, for having been a primary school for some 50 years, the former Palácio Alarcão now serves new purposes. The main floors of the former school building are now occupied by the Gaivotas Creative Hub, and the Teatro Praga has installed itself in the palace building with the street number 6, taking on the name Rua das Gaivotas 6, a venue for visual art shows, performance art, conferences, literature, cinema and workshops. The aim of the remodelling project was to create a space of continuity with the building it is part of, reflecting an overriding desire for adaptation, improvisation and interaction with the city.
