OLD SCHOOL (OS) is a monthly project curated by Susana Pomba, initiated in 2011, and settled at Rua das Gaivotas 6. It aims to present new works of invited artists (no generational constraints) in a sole night. The artist is challenged to reassess his/her work, try new mediums, new collaborations or to bring to light ideas that used to be stored into basement boxes. An ephemeral moment that is expressed in a piece.
This project wants to instigate a reciprocal and free relation between artist and curator. This relation is inaugurated through the joint creation of the session’s promotional materials: a blackboard and a teaser.
