The hope for loving is necessary, it is also lacking. It transcends us even when we must renounce it. Even when we prefer to opt for asexuality, for freedom, or perhaps imprisonment, to just be us. WE must do it, we must breathe, feel, kiss, caress, cry, smile, laugh, sob, run. What do we know after all? “Ode to Love or Death to the Limbic System” addresses precisely this often infernal battle between wanting and refusing, Love. On a rocky journey, stopping at the types of Love of Roland Barthes, we play with words of Shakespeare, trying to reach conclusions with the help of Daniel Goleman. Above all, we hold on to ourselves, to our entities, and choose a series of sub themes of Love: Paternal Love, Happy Love, the Loving Heartbreak, the Tragic Love, Polyamory, Jealousy, The Shell, the Plurality of Genres, First Love. After all, what is the limbic system? What influence does it have in our behaviour? We present to our audience a puzzle that needs assembling, spread out on a table, disorganised. It is up to each one of us to organise it the way we prefer.
