O CROCODILO OU O EXTRAÓRDINÁRIO ACONTECIMENTO IRRELEVANTE

A man is devoured by a crocodile. The unusual thing is that he survives, without any scratches, inside the stomach of the exotic animal. All attempts to save it prove unsuccessful in the face of bureaucracies in a politically and economically turned-back country.
The Crocodile or The Extraordinary Irrelevant Event comes from a rewrite of Dostoyevsky’s KroKodil. The current relevance of this author’s tale and its political, economic and social relevance, finds in the current Portuguese panorama a symbiosis and perfect parallels.
It is a mutant, part made up of the Russian environment of Dostoevsky’s writing, part of the universe of the director, part of the world’s actuality, of which the play does not attempt escape or abstraction, but rather serves as a point of view.
