Modus Vivendi is a performance that develops around several actions, which compose an absurd narrative, highlighting repetition, the ritualistic display of the society’s functioning mechanisms. This operational procedure, which constantly play a tribute to a presumed “natural” order – although mistaken by a continuous management of appearance – are in fact constant subject of a denial of reality. Living with a severe and restricting disease becomes a moment of confrontation towards the nature of the social structures and our own relation to reality. Modus Vivendi addresses life and death in a universe that trivialises the first and conceals the second.
