AIRES
Madeiran musician active under different pseudonyms and one of the heads of the Colectivo Casa Amarela. As Aires, his recording debut came in 2014 with the release of his eponymous album on the Portuguese label Enough Records. Since then he has collaborated with various labels, such as Genot Centre and Bad Panda Records, until he focused on his Casa Amarela, which he shares with the artist Mafalda Melim, with whom he curates the cycle Jejum na Rua das Gaivotas6. Currently, his work reflects a theme that has become central to the whole project: the ephemerality and spectral quality of relationships in the digital age. In 2021 he edited the EP ‘Daylight Fireworks, by ZABRA, and the EP ‘Chains of Silver, Chains of Gold’, by the Finnish World Canvas. These are works about the inevitable acceptance of ephemerality, about distance and the modern illusions we use to hide it.
Colectivo Casa Amarela (CCA) started in 2014 as a collective of four – Bruno, Mafalda, Nelson and Rui. Only the first two remain. Mafalda Melim takes care of all the visual side, Bruno Pereira programmes some concerts and releases some records – some are his own, others are handpicked collaborations. Micro-publisher and promoter with a special focus on experimental electronic music.
