Inês Malheiro creates sound narratives using voice as a raw material, whether improvised or premeditated, recycling broken vocalizations and dismembered songs. The endless chaos has an end is the series of songs she started creating in 2018. In parallel to her solo work, she released liquify, spread and float (2022), an improvised live performance-album, created the sound design for Práticas Laboriosas do Enxofre (2022), an exhibition project created by Coletivo Corisca, released Canal-Conduto (2020) with Gonçalo Penas, and presented Organismus Kathársis, co-creation with Francisca Marques, at Lisboa Soa.

At Rua das Gaivotas 6, Inês Malheiro will present her new discographic work deusa náusea, in dialogue with the exhibition of Léna Lewis-King.

deusa náusea, being intimately unusual, balances you as in the cradle of a feverish baby with its fragmented beauty and her delicacy that serpentines our brain. Polarised, reversed, perplexed, epithelialized by espectral processes and beleza pura. Chunks of voices chopped and minced in the metric drip leave you in continuous tele-transformation, by centrifuging our deepest interiors as if she would like to break with just enough strength the structural matrix of a song. Inês Malheiro, with her peripheral vision and a bouquet of Gerberas and Peonies, makes this day an anisotropic pleasure.” – Alex Lázaro
