“Home” is a performative installation by Mariana Ferreira, a digital and organic hybrid space where the artist explores the concept of home.

The installation proposes the inhabiting of an organic space where live plants, flowers, weeds, trees and diseased plants intersect with the digital projection of the artist encounters with people of different nationalities wherein a virtual tour they visit their places of the past.

The artist also inhabits the installation space, inviting the public to reflect together on the question “what makes a home”? At the same time, she tries to create the ideal conditions for the plant’s survival.

MARIANA FERREIRA is a creator, performer and author. She has a degree in Theatre|Actors from ESTC and a postgraduate degree in Writing Arts from FCSH.

Since 2015 she has been working professionally in performing arts and has worked with artists such as Bouchra Ouizguen, Alex Cassal, Ricardo Correia, Ricardo Vaz Trindade, Monica Calle or Mário Coelho.

She has written two published plays, Pin My Places, staged by Rui Horta at TNDMII, and Et cetera, et cetera, written at École des Maîtres 2020/2021.
