Four creators proudly take over other people’s works, contributing with full awareness to the cycle of “originality”. While taking over these works, they manipulate, distort, and call them their own. Same old story! Then, they stick it all into a mood, an excuse, an area, this also shamelessly copied: information that, who knows why, has emerged from discussion or lingered underneath their skin. They use and abuse of concepts such as performance, show, and exhibition to present improved versions of themselves… Versions that become truer the more false they are; grow more genuine the more artificial they get. They ensure, however, that FAKE! is all the more false, deceitful, unscrupulous and shameless, the closer it gets to originality.
