In ESTÉRIL we dig into the past in order to understand how we got here. We show life through a negative and hopeless outlook. Through the repetition and the acceptance of taboos, uneasiness arises, derived from the pressure of socials norms, entangled in our own cognitive structures. We reflect about the difference: we expose and accept the darkness of our thoughts in a place free of moral judgements. We accept death as the best possible destiny. ESTÉRIL is an allegoric satire that stems from the need to comprehend the origin of our anger. We analyse concepts such as love, procreation, sex, death, justice and religion, through the perspective of our feminine condition. We seek to give light to the shadows of a world that is still a place of ignorance and punishment. Through light – symbol of intelligence, clairvoyance, culture – we aim to scrutinise the realm of ideas, in search of a manifesto.
