“From now on, Chega will never stop growing again. I assure you that, eight years from now, we will be the largest party in Portugal” – André Ventura, the night he was elected deputy, October 6, 2019. What kind of social dynamics make this governing context possible?
Day 27. The CCA takeover begins with an installation by João Valinho, which addresses issues of identity, social conditioning, and aesthetics. João Pedro Fonseca’s Amnesia portrays the instrumentalization of an artist as an icon for the art of a system. Next up a live gig by VIRUZ,a project, fueled by hardcore techno and industrial aesthetics. Post-rave and digital culture confronting each other in a combat in which the role of hardcore as a tool of radicalization is questioned.
Day 28. To finish the takeover, we packed together in an ambient marathon. It will be more than 8 hours straight with musicians from different quarters within the genre. And mattresses, many mattresses. We sleep together, resist together, and have breakfast together at 8 am on Sunday morning.
