We started by establishing a routine around details that surround improvisational practices in the fields of contemporary dance and music – a rehearsal a month between January and Decembre 2018. The mirror-house, which is the studio, became the motor of a series of improvisations on a whim for discovery. Because of the twelve months, the twelve rehearsals brought the possibility of splitting space-time in twelve parts. This dramaturgical possibility brought a myriad of images that unfold the discussion: twelve tones, twelve scores, twelve compositions, twelve reflexions, twelve mirrors
“Twelve” became a possible translation for plural. A virtual plurality, an image multiplied by mirrors and cameras, a game played through a capricious fold.

We have Vivaldi’s 4 seasons, Paganini’s 24 Caprices, Goya’s 80 Caprices, the twelve months of the year, numerology and countless signs that we’ll not take into account. There is a production of chosen images that try to escape previous narratives, that try to escape suggestive formats, to scape interpretation, to escape the linear logic of symbolic systems. Caprice #12 wants to feed identitary fractals, to project fantasies, expectations, landscapes
Caprice#12 will to narcissism, specularity, mirroring, and reflexion is inspired in the videos:

Third Tape from Peter Campus 1976, Why Do Things Get in a Muddle (Come On Petunia) from Gary Hill 1984. And it is inspired by the texts Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There de Lewis Carroll 1871, “Fable” de Francis Ponge s.d. The result will be what is beyond the whole ensemble of landscapes that inhabit the poetics of Caprice #12.
