Naples, the Sanità district. Four generations of women and their daily routine in a domestic space that even stretches onto the sidewalk, where men are hardly seen.
Os recém-chegados aims to organise screenings in Lisbon of alternative, international and contemporary films never shown in the city before. The selected films share a certain political consciousness and offer various singular poetic visions of the world. They challenge ways of approaching the real by using different modes of representation with desire to create new cinematographic forms.
Each evening will present a body of work. Director(s) will be especially in Lisbon to meet the audience.
Os recém-chegados is formed by three filmmakers recently arrived in town : Gaëlle Boucand, Pierre Carniaux and Thibault Solinhac.
Chloé Inguenaud studied history and anthropology in Paris, then philosophy in Naples where she made researches on napolitain stereotypes. In 2015, she achieves her first documentary feature Sempre le stesse coseshot during five years among a napolitain family. The film was selected in international festivals such as Cinéma du réel (France), Yamagata Documentary Film Festival (Japan), FIDOCS (Chile) or Istanbul Documentary Festival (Turkey).
