On March 23, 24 and 25, several artistic collaborations will occupy Rua das Gaivotas 6 in order to research and produce three artistic prototypes that take fiction as the starting point, as a key to unlock the complexity of the future. We invite a collective of nine artists to reflect together during a week-long residency, in an exploration that will result in a collective show that crosses video art, installation, lighting and performance. This program is integrated in the Fictional Futures season at Rua das Gaivotas 6, which explores fiction and futurality as catalysts for experimentation and the construction of new social, political and cultural narratives.
AURORA is a Performing Artist, Dancer, Musician, Producer, Actor and Model. She released “UND3RW0RLD” (M1XT⊩P3) ” V. â¶ME3″ (EP) “FLESH AGAINST FLESH” (LP) and “UTERUS” (EP). She developed “N3P0M0RPH⊩” (Lisboa, Porto), “NYMPHO MANIAC” (Brussels, Oslo, Lisboa, Porto), “AURORA DE AREIA” (Lisboa, Porto, Montemor), “HETEROPTERA”(Lisboa, Porto) and “VELVET N’ GOLDMINE” (Lisboa, Porto, Santa Maria da Feira). She released her first book “APOCALYPSE” Sapata Press (Portugal, Brasil). She also developed the short-film “AURORA” with Carlota Flor (United States, England, Portugal). She starred the movie “Uma Rapariga Imaterial” by AndrĂ© Godinho (2022) and played the character Violeta in the series “Secreto Lx” by Patrick D’Orlando (2020). Her first film was “Ela Ă Uma MĂșsica” by Francisca MarvĂŁo (2019) and she also played herself in the series “My Blood” by Tota Alves (2019). In 2013 she finished the degree in contemporary dance at Balleteatro (PT).
Internet Jane (she/they) is a multidisciplinary designer from Lisbon based in Porto, keen on using graphic design as a methodological lens to explore contemporary culture focusing on the relationship between technology and the physical realm. She enjoys doing speculative-image association research through world building scenarios and collaborative projects tat allow her to explore her practice within other creative fields such as sound design, installation and performance. 1/8 members of Coletivo Lenha â a multidisciplinary collective focused on musical exploration in communion with design â broadcasting monthly on RĂĄdio QuĂąntica with Sacred Fire Of Vesta. With work featured in Yuuts Ruoy â VĂłmito de Artista #2 â and âPrata da Casaâ, âFindersâ Keepersâ Loosersâ Wheepersââ, and âThe Spiritual Ascension Of All The Animalsâ published by Stolen Books. Internet Jane has worked with artists and entities such as Odete, Diana Policarpo, Mina Suspension, RĂĄdio Universidade de Coimbra and brands like Minga London and Molly98.
Artist working with languages that intercept image, movement, voice, scenography and light, approaching the body as a vessel for the transformation and mediation of hypnagogic states, as well as for the gestures and procedures of the visceral conscience of the present. Among others Miranda has presented the dance pieces CABRAQIMERA, DREAM IS THE DREAMER, BOCA MURALHA and MAZEZAM at Centre Pompidou (Paris/ FR), Palais de Tokyo (Paris/ FR), Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon/PT), Serralves Museum (Porto/PT), National Theatre (Porto, Pt), Festival Materiais Diversos (Pt), Festival DDD (PT), Festival Pays de Danses (LiĂšge, Be), Festival Mindelact (Cape Verde), Festival Short Theatre (Rome/IT). Furthermore, Miranda has presented the visual installations POROMECHANICS at Centre Pompidou (Paris/ FR), and Municipal Theatre Porto/ Maus HĂĄbitos (Porto/PT), DIAGONAL ANIMAL at Fabrik Festival (Fall River/ USA) and MOUNTAIN MOUTH at Dance Box and Maizuru RB (Kobe/ Maizuru/ JP). She has finished the Master EXERCE at ICI-CCN Montpellier/FR and the BA in Visual Arts at the Portoâs Fine Arts University/ Pt. She has studied Noh Theatre at Kyoto Art Center/JP.
Born in 1995, Lisbon. Lives and works in Lisbon. Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon with a Multimedia Art bachelor. Mariaâs work explores themes surrounding identity (existence) and digital culture. She has a constant presence on social media, where she publishes content that depicts how shape and identity are reduced or, on the other hand, amplified on the internet. The artist takes advantage of the social and existential impact of technology in contemporary life to keep an updated log on the subjects of a generalized society. Maria manifests a fascination with the ease we can virtually create and alter a chosen truth. She was one of the co-creators and interpreters in Laranjal from Beatriz Garrucho (Rua das Gaivotas, 2021), co-created and had a video installation at Ăguasmil (Rua das Gaivotas, 2022), and created and showed the video pieces People Holding Fish (Mostly White Middle-aged Men) (Desterro, 2019), and Girls On Rails (MĂ©dio Porte (medioporte.zinecanito.com, 2022).
Lui L’Abbate is a queer and blxck artist of light and spaces. They work mainly with dance and performance shows, as well as concerts. In recent years they have been working with lighting and performance following their Master’s research in which guerrilla and gambiarra become aesthetic metrologies of creation. Since 2015 they conceive, assembles and operate light for parties and several theater plays, improvisation, dance, music, performance and video shows in several cities between Brazil, Chile, Portugal, Cape Verde, Germany, Norway and Spain. They have been on tour in Brazil doing lighting technique for SESC Palco GiratĂłrio, participated in the technical teams of Cena UniversitĂĄria (CĂ©U) and XIV Cena ContemporĂąnea International Theatre Festival, besides coordinating the technical team of Ocupação NEM (NĂșcleo Experimental do Movimento), of Mostra do Obsoleto Teatro and the two editions of ODU – Black Art Festival. They did his professional internship with the technical team of the Theater und Orchestra Heidelberg, in Germany.
Nina is a dance artist based in Lisbon. She began her professional career at age 16 at DeAnima Ballet ContemporĂąneo in Rio de Janeiro and was a member of the Nederlands Dans Theater II and I between 2004 and 2010. Since 2010 she works as a choreographic assistant, performer, teacher and reassembles pieces for choreographers Marina Mascarell and Alexander Ekman. She has collaborated with artists such as Marina Mascarell, TĂąnia Carvalho, Ivan Perez, Renan Martins, Alexander Ekman, Sara Anjo, Michelle Moura, Mateo LĂłpez, Hugo Vieira da Silva, Marina Dalgalarrondo, AcauĂŁ el Bandido Sereia, Janiv Oron, David Marques, VĂąnia Doutel Vaz , Julian Pacomio and Raquel Klein. From 2016 to the present, she has been developing authoral and independent works. Her performances have been presented in projects, institutions and exhibitions such as for the PLMJ Foundation (Lisbon), CHANGE CHANGE (Budapest), Projeto Fora (SĂŁo Paulo), Segundas da Z – Galeria ZĂ© dos Bois (Lisbon), Galeria Bruno MĂșrias (Lisbon). ), Galeria Jaqueline Martins (SĂŁo Paulo), Sala Injuve (Madrid) and Damas (Lisbon) and Galeria ArtePassagem (SĂŁo Paulo). She studied fashion design at the Lisbon School of Design and completed her training in fabric natural dyeing with The Dyer’s House. As a costume designer she developed the costumes for the pieces Orthopedica Corporatio, Second Landscape (Skanes Dans Theater), How to Cope with a sunset when the Horizon has been dismantled (Nederlands Dans Theater 1) by Marina Mascarell, La Burla by Bibi DĂłria and Bruno Brandolino, HĂ©lio and Viaduct (in partnership with Maria Silva) by Renan Martins and The Elephant in the Middle of the Room by VĂąnia Doutel Vaz.
Gonçalo Guiomar is a researcher interested in understanding autopoeitic processes and their support through simulacra. Focusing on their intersectionality with the emergence of cognitive representations in organisms and machines, he is currently a PhD student in Neuroscience at the Champalimaud Foundation, where he focuses on creating mathematical models to explain how neuronal activity and structure can support these processes. His work also involves interpreting these questions through the direct interface between humans and machines. In collaboration with various artists, he has created interactive installations where the observer can interact directly with the machine’s representational substrates, exploring the limits of aesthetics as a vehicle for contact with mechanized alterity.

She graduated from Escola Superior de Dança in 2018, highlighting, during this period, the contact with Barbara Griggi, Sylvia Rijmer, JĂĄcome Filipe, Maria Ramos, Madalena Vitorino, Pietro Romani, AmĂ©lia Bentes. In 2018-2020, she attended the Performact – training program, in Torres Vedras, where she consolidated her education. She worked with Eddy Becquart, JoĂŁo Cardoso, ChloĂ© Beilevaire, Ted Stoffer, Magalie Lanriot, Iñaki Azpillaga. As a performer, highlights include “T42 – Constellation Skeleton” by Pietro Romani, “A Peça Macabra” by Beatriz Cantinho, “Perante isto somos Dois” by Marta Jardim; “Dispositivos, installation at TBA, Lisbon, by Sofia Dias and VĂtor Roriz; “Ao Abrigo da DistĂąncia”, by Rui CatalĂŁo; “Escala”, by Sofia Dias and VĂtor Roriz; “AlbĂșns de FamĂlia”, by Constanza Givone; “Casa com Ărvores Dentro”, by ClĂĄudia Semedo. As a creator she developed the project “THEFRUIT – an occidental title” (ResidĂȘncias Interferencias’21 program); the solo “Other than you, you”; and “Faded” (video dance).
