Evanescent Idleness is the first solo show by Guilherme Curado. The exhibition takes over the pink room at Rua das Gaivotas 6 with pieces created in a variety of mediums such as photography, video and sound. An allegorical tale on idleness. The apparent motionless moments still teems with life, a sculptural approach to both photography and painting, the creation of an fictional environment where everything is still but still contains life in itself. A transitory state in between life and fossilisation.

Guilherme Curado (1996, Faro, Portugal), transmedia artist, resides and works in Lisbon. Has a bachelors degree in Multimedia Art (2018) and a post-graduation in Sound Art (2019) both by Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa. Their research exists in the intersection between the everyday, the mystic and sci-fi, which materializes through installation, photography, sound and sculpture. Recently shown at the collective exhibitions “Dream Sequence” at MAD Marvila(Lisbon, 2022), “Imago” at gonssalo.com (online, 2020) and “Out of The Window) at Arte Graça (Lisbon, 2020). In 2021, produced and released an EP entitled “For Better Times”by the record label “Variz”. Has collaborated with the collectives mina, Arvi+ and Rádio Quântica on the creation of graphics and works with the fashion designer João Magalhães on the creation of prints for his collections.
