Making a synopsis is always terrible. Especially for those who do not like to create constraints and expectations in the spectators and want them to make an effort to think and construct meaning with who is on stage.
Writing a synopsis is always an act of compromise, a creation of expectations and a sort of intellectual agreement between artists and the audience. Itâs a connection between what the audience will see and what they expect to see. We can always make âa synopsis dressed in blackâ â one that does not compromise with anything, that speaks about the context of the presentation, that speaks about a distant starting point, that spreads intentions, one that has an inspiring quote from an author or an extract from the text of the show. This could be a way but the tricky task of writing synopsis dressed in black is a skill thatâs not available to everyone. We accept this, we canât do it and above all we donâtâ want to do it.
And thatâs it, this synopsis is coming to an end ⊠and nothing⊠not even a reference about the theme, a starting point, an idea to explore⊠nothing. Just a meta-textual synopsis that talks about the act of writing a synopsis. Well, âwe said nothing about what the show isâ, but with this synopsis we say a lot about what this show is. See you soon.
