This workshop sets out to accomplish two distinct but inter-connected purposes: we will access and discuss the main conceptual drives of queer theory and critique, with particular attention to their articulation in the 80s and 90s.. On the other hand, we will attempt to induce a categorical crisis in the category of queer itself, by reflecting on its geographical, historical, linguistic, cultural, political and ethical circunscriptions and vulnerabilities. The ultimate result? An experimentation with a (self-)reflexive common space, which allows us to critically frame the concept of queer – both in the plurality of its potentials and the structural problems it carries.
