Radio Quantica is a new platform that aims to be a safe, communal haven for underground Portuguese artists and activists to make their voice heard. This internet radio station is the manifestation of a non-local grassroots movement that has been going on for quite some years now. It includes DJs, labels, crews, music makers, collectors, scene agitators and equality activists that are of Portuguese or Lusophone origin: the people behind one of the most relevant waves of talent that Portuguese culture has seen in recent decades.

 LINE-UP

PHOTONZ x JOSE ACID — 2 pm
Co-founder of Radio Quantica, Photonz is a key figure in Portugal’s electronic music scene. He will be joined by José Acid, also known as Shcuro – another inescapable name in local dance music.

A.M.O.R. — 2.45 pm
The duo will be performing a DJ set, recreating the unpredictable, mordacious eclecticism of their joint radio show, Summer Of Love. This feminist, innovative rap pair has been stirring the waters in Portuguese hip hop for a decade now.

EMAUZ x GONÇALO — 3.30 pm
Mariana is EMAUZ, a prolific producer who is part of a new generation of sonic creators that combine Chicago acid’s raw emotion with an eminently Portuguese warmth. She will be performing back-to-back with Gonçalo, the Porto-born, Lisbon-based DJ who founded the label Helena and has a penchant for the most elegant side of the sound that the Detroit heritage spawned across Europe.

FUNGO — 4.15 pm
Orson and Welles are Just Jaeckin and Citizen:Kane, cultural agitators and sound experimenters, who will appear in an improvised live act that combines vinyl recirds and synthesisers in a synchronised, hypnotic communion.

TWOFOLD x SHERI VARI x MÁRIO VALENTE — 4.45 pm
Twofold, a lover of the most dreamlike, psychedelic side of dance music from the last two decades, collaborates for the first time in a unique DJ set with Sheri Vari, Lisbon DJ and producer with a profound sensibility to chose and create pieces of modern electronic music. Mário Valente will be joining them with his encyclopaedic knowledge of the most exciting modern music, from punk to italo disco, house or synth-pop.

SATAN MADE ME DO IT — 5.30 pm
Satan Made Me Do It DJs are a dynamic duo that brings us all of the blaze and passion of metal, from lo-fi productions to the most grandiose, sophisticated picks.

POLIDO X MMMOOONNNOOO — 8.15 pm
Polido and MMMOOONNNOOO are two young sonic explorers, each with a promising solo career, joining forces in a live act of visceral, exploratiry electronica.

CAROLINE LETHÔ x SONJA — 6.45 pm
Caroline Lethô is one of the youngest DJs and composers of vanguard dance music operating from Lisbon, combining somber atmospheres with raw, accelerated energy to create striking hybrids for modern clubs. She will be joined by Sonja, veteran DJ of the Portuguese scene, known by effortlessly blending an unsuspected palette of sonic colours in her magnetic DJ sets.

I’LL x NAVE MÃE — 7.30 pm
I’LL is half of party series and radio show Bass to Mouth and a self-confessed music lover who navigates with ease from futuristic electronica to the most interesting hip hop, disco or bossanova. Nave Mãe is a true veteran in the Porto scene, boss of essential label 1980 and equal parts versatile and unerring as a DJ.

ROUNDHOUSE KICK — 8.15 pm
Roudhouse Kick are Adriana and Igor, a pair from the South of Portugal who are known for the magical way by which they manipulate sinthesisers of different eras to create their very own brand of romantic yet pulsating dance music.

20: 45 – NUNO BERNARDINO x TROL2000 x ALCIDES
Three bona fide titans of the Lisbon DJ scene. Nuno Bernardino is known for his raw, visceral sound, never samey and always emotional; TROL2000 is the guardian (and alchemist) of one of the most varied and colourful record collections in the country and Alcides is a historic name in Portugal’s DJing art, who is all about unpredictable, entrancing selections.
