Concert
Sallim

Born in Lisbon, Sallim lives between the seaside and the university where she studies. Her songs evoke her daily train journeys along the river. With a clear and mighty voice, she shares her constant search for the right place in the world, through tender and melancholic lyrics. From the artist’s care to details emerge three-dimensional compositions made of the multiplicity of voices, echoes and harmonies, along with sound images which unveil lunatic and intimate landscapes. Isula – her debut album, edited by the independent label Cafetra Records – is a circular piece of delicate songs that immediately captures the listener’s mind. Besides singing, Sallim plays the electric guitar and adds some keyboard melodies to her songs, as well as sounds made by everyday objects. Yan-Gant Y-Tan, musician and friend, also plays the guitar for this record, Isula, which carries warm and sunny colours from a lost afternoon in Lisbon. However, when the sun is set, life takes place on a night flight towards the moon, a place from where Sallim looks inside herself and her memories.
