KOUDELKA SHOOTING HOLY LAND

(72min, Germany, Czech Republic, Engsub, 2015)
Portuguese premiere

A unique and intimate look into the creative process of Josef Koudelka, one of photography’s greatest living masters. Israeli director Gilad Baram follows Koudelka on his photographic journey through Israel and Palestine as he searches for the elusive moment in which a photograph emerges.

THE DISAPPEARED

(46min,Germany, Israel, Engsub 2018)
Portuguese premiere

An experimental documentary unraveling the story of an action-drama feature film produced by the Israeli Army in the year 2000 and censored just a few weeks before its release. The Disappeared is a film that examines the borders of the cinematic medium.

Os recém-chegados aims to organise screenings in Lisbon of alternative, international and contemporary films never shown in the city before. The selected films share a certain political consciousness and offer various singular poetic visions of the world. They challenge ways of approaching the real by using different modes of representation with desire to create new cinematographic forms.
Each evening will present a body of work. Director(s) will be especially in Lisbon to meet the audience.
Os recém-chegados is formed by three filmmakers recently arrived in town : Gaëlle Boucand, Pierre Carniaux and Thibault Solinhac.

Born in 1981, Gilad Baram is a photographer, visual artist and documentary filmmaker based in Berlin and Jerusalem. His work, focusing primarily on lens-based images in the era of Internet and big datahas been exhibited worldwide.
