Started in 2011, the meetings WHAT A BOOK MAY are a privileged platform to think and share editions’ practices, ethical perspectives, processes and ontologies, enclosing graphical, photographic and visual dimensions.
The 5th edition is exclusively dedicated to the editions directed to children, a territory that has proved an extraordinary ability to reinvent itself and divert, thanks to the efforts of illustrators and editors holding a new visual culture and all improved skills, as well as willingness to take editorials risks.
We propose to display a non-exhaustive panorama of children’s illustration, crossing graphical and imagery universes, as well as original themes aiming to all generations.
The objects of this showcase are an exhibition, workshops, an edition’s fair and talks. Highlight to the launch of Gonçalo M. Tavares’ (with illustrations by Madalena Matoso) new book “O Dicionário do Menino Andersen”, on November 21 at 9 PM.
