É com alegria e orgulho que em Novembro a Rua das Gaivotas 6 inaugura uma nova sala na antiga Escola das Gaivotas, a Sala Rosa. No dia 11 de Novembro, a abertura deste novo espaço culmina com a inauguração do programa transdisciplinar Efeito-Suruba, com a programação do colectivo Pipi Colonial, formado pela Ana Cristina Cachola, Daniela Agostinho e pela Joana Mayer.
Entre 2 e 5 de Novembro, o Festival Temps D’Images traz à Rua das Gaivotas 6 O Criado, de André Murraças, um espectáculo baseado na novela The Servant, escrita por Robin Maugham, adaptada ao cinema por Harold Pinter e Joseph Losey e exibe o filme “Perguntas Difíceis” de João Meirinhos, que segue o trabalho de Rui Catalão e as apresentações públicas da oficina de teatro “Agora, faz tu!”, no dia 22 de Novembro pelas 19h30.
Ainda no Festival Temps D’Images, o Projecto Feedback convidou Catarina Vieira a apresentar o work in progress da sua peça Chego Sempre Tarde aos Funerais Importantes. Esta apresentação de work in progress na Rua das Gaivotas 6, será a abertura ao público do processo de pesquisa, que culminará num espetáculo, a apresentar no Teatro Maria Matos, de 11 a 14 de Janeiro de 2018.
Contamos também com mais uma sessão de cinema d’Os Recém-Chegados na terça feira, dia 7, em que serão apresentados dois filmes da autoria de Charlotte Bayer-Broc.
Entre 28 de Novembro e 3 de Dezembro recebemos também no nosso espaço Festival Internacional SIGNES DE NUIT, um espaço de encontro multinacional que hoje apresenta uma Competição de Cinema e Vídeo também em Berlim, Lisboa, Banguecoque, Urbino, Saarbrücken e outros lugares.
Sílvia Pinto Coelho e Daniel Pizamiglio apresentam CAPRICHO #2 Primavera nos Dentes entre dia 8 e 11 de Novembro, um espetáculo de dança que aborda a catarse como desterritorialização potenciadora de novos mundos, co-coreografado por Sílvia Pinto Coelho e Daniel Pizamiglio.
A programação de Dezembro termina com mais uma sessão de cinema organizada pel’Os Recém-Chegados, desta vez apresentando dois filmes de Christophe Bisson, “Into the World” e “Silêncio”.
O espólio do nosso Centro de Documentação de Artes Performativas e Mediateca continua a aumentar e está disponível a todos os visitantes, curiosos e estudiosos entre as 14h e as 20h, de segunda a sexta. O estúdio de som, por seu turno, está sempre aberto a reservas e novas utilizações. Apareçam!
It is with joy and pride that in November Rua das Gaivotas 6 inaugurates a new room in the old Escola das Gaivotas, the Pink Room. On November 11, this new space will open at the same time as the transdisciplinary programme Efeito-Suruba, curated by Pipi Colonialcollective , formed by Ana Cristina Cachola, Daniela Agostinho and Joana Mayer.
Between November 2 and 5, Temp D’Images Festival brings to Rua das Gaivotas 6 “O Criado”, by André Murraças, a show based on the novel “The Servant”, written by Robin Maugham, adapted to the cinema by Harold Pinter and Joseph Losey and the film “Difficult Questions” João Meirinhos, who follows the work of Rui Catalão and as public presentations of the theater office “Agora, faz tu!”, on November 22 at 7:30 pm.
Yet during Temp D’Images Festival, the Feedback Project invited Catarina Vieira to present the work in progress of his play I Always Arrive at Important Funerals. This presentation of the work in progress at Rua das Gaivotas 6, welcomes the public to get to know the research process, which will result in a performance, a presentation at the Teatro Maria Matos, from January 11 to 14, 2018.
We also have another film session of The Newcomers on Tuesday, the 7th, in which two films were presented by Charlotte Bayer-Broc.
Between 28 November and 3 December we also host in our space SIGNES DE NUIT International Festival, a multinational meeting space that today presents a Film and Video Competition also in Berlin, Lisbon, Bangkok, Urbino, Saarbrücken and other places.
Sílvia Pinto Coelho and Daniel Pizamiglio present CAPRICHO # 2 between November 8 and 11, a dance performance which approaches the catharsis as deterritorialisation potentiating new worlds, co-choreographed by Sílvia Pinto Coelho and Daniel Pizamiglio. The December programme ends with another film session organized by Recém-Chegados, this time featuring two Christophe Bisson films, “Into the World” and “Silence”.
The collection of our Documentation Center for Performative Arts and Media Library keeps getting larger and is available to all visitors, curious and studious between 2 pm and 8 pm, Monday through Friday. The sound studio, for its part, is always open to reservations and new uses. Appear!
The September programme at Rua das Gaivotas 6 has a regular presence of the film club organized by our neighbors Os Filhos de Lumière, which will screen two films this month, within the cycle entitled “In the Country of Cinema” on September 15, and Old School, the curatorial project of Susana Pomba that is reaching its 49th edition.
We will once again receive Daniel Lourenço, who is responsible for the coordination of the workshop Representation and Power: Speech Policies, Dialogue Policies, which will focus on the complex and imprecise relations between representation and power and as economies of affirmation and suppression in structures representational (linguistic, mediatic, artistic …) at large condition certain subjectivities and certain places of articulation.
Wild Horse Run, a play by Andrea Hackl and Ivan Shopov on freedom and courage, which invites its audience to a “tour-de-force”, is presented on September 8 and 9 at 9:30 p.m.
On the other hand, Melania Melanoma, a piece of circumstance, a “Minajesque” or “Social Experimentalism” by Miguel Loureiro, will be at Rua das Gaivotas 6 from 12 to 14 September, at 9.30 pm.
Also in September, Frederico Dinis presents us with Whisperings, an audiovisual performance that seeks to envolve the audience in a haze of recollection, in a meditative and intimate experience, exhibited on the 16th, at 10pm.
Closing this month’s programme, Silly Season will present their new REHAB project from 26th to 27th September, an incomplete show that aims to reconfigure and redefine, giving new links and sites not yet recognizable.
In October, Rua das Gaivotas 6 hosts two festivals: the Silêncio Festival, a transdisciplinary and participatory festival that celebrates the word as a vehicle of knowledge and as an act of creation, which exhibits in our space the Rochedo installation, and Festival Temps d’Image, festival of performing arts and media art, represented in Gaivotas 6 by the show Bibi Ha Bibi, which presents itself as a contemporary ritual combining various forms of modern sacred, from the sporting struggle to the traditional inuita song, passing through the kabuki theater, for warrior hymns and for couple / mating dances.
Between 5 and 7 Odete C. Ferreira and Bruno Cadinha reflect how important the margins of an aesthetic history or a history of the genre are, in the DRLNG performance and on the 7th, between 16h30 and 20h, Daniel Lourenço returns for another one edition of the workshop Representation and Power: Speech Policies, Dictionaries Policies.
Uma FRIDA, a play by Hugo Olim, Mariana Magalhães and Sofia Santos Silva rehearses a reflection on the love speech, between October 12 and 14, at 9.30 and 15 a.m. at 7 p.m. Our schedule would not be complete without the 50th edition of the Old School, which will take place on 21st of October.
