OLD SCHOOL (OS) é um projecto mensal da curadora Susana Pomba, iniciado em 2011, que utiliza o espaço do Teatro Praga para apresentar obras inéditas de artistas plásticos (sem qualquer restrição geracional) num acontecimento que se circunscreve às horas úteis de uma noite apenas.
Um momento efémero em que se ensaia, se produz e se apresenta uma obra – o artista é convidado a reavaliar o seu trabalho, experimentar outros suportes, novas colaborações, ou a investigar e realizar ideias guardadas em gavetas.
A relação que se quer recíproca e de liberdade criativa entre artista e curador é inaugurada com um momento colaborativo entre as partes envolventes: a produção dos elementos de divulgação da noite, um blackboard e um trailer.
Founded in 2011, OLD SCHOOL (OS) is a monthly project by curator Susana Pomba, housed by Teatro Praga, that presents new works by artists (with no age restriction) in a one-off night event.
An ephemeral moment where a work is rehearsed, produced and presented – the artist is invited to revaluate his work, try out new mediums, new collaborations, or investigate and rehash ideas and wishes that had never seen the light of day.
The relationship established between artist and curator, one that aims at being mutual and that installs creative freedom, is inaugurated with a collaborative moment between both parties: the production of the promotional materials of the evening: a blackboard and trailer.
