THE SPACE

Flexible and versatile, this room is where Rua das Gaivotas 6 hosts most of its events.

Providing light, sound and video equipment, this room has been, since its opening, stage for dance shows, theater plays, performances, art exhibitions, debates and conferences.

The Pink Room, a multipurpose space dedicated to projects with varying durations, inaugurated on November 11, 2017.

After being rehabilitated with the support of CML, Rua das Gaivotas 6 has another space focused mainly on visual and plastic arts, exhibition and presentation of proposals from emerging artists, researchers and curators.

On December 4, 2016, we inaugurated the new Documentation Center for Performative Arts and Media Library. In this open space you can access the internet, browse books, watch movies, study or work on projects. Our library is polyglot, we have books in several languages like French, English, German, etc.

The infrastructure of this cultural center is guaranteed by the rehabilitation of space, with the help of CML and other partner structures.

Supported by BIPZIP programme, the sound studio opened its doors on September 10, 2016, with Rádio Quântica’s launch party, one of our artistic partners based on Rua das Gaivotas 6. So fa, the studio has been used by artists and musicians, such as Óscar Silva AKA Jibóia, who created the full soundtrack for a show in this space. Duly equipped, the sound studio, as all the spaces here at Rua das Gaivotas 6, is always open for  new occupations and uses.
